Many, many years ago, somewhere in the aeons of time there lived a Miller Man, although then, he didn't realise that this was his destiny as he was naught but a poor young slob and knew no better. Whilst growing up, he became the wild and reckless, International Disc Jockey for whom 'party' was the word of the day! He threw himself wholeheartedly into the fast life with gusto and aplomb, scorching the turntables of both music and desire from one end of Europe to the other. His travels caused him to meet and set the hearts afire of many a young maiden who would willingly abandon all for him. (Well, some anyway...occasionally)
And so it befell that after tasting the sweet nectar of the good life, he came down to earth with an almighty, shattering thud. He'd become too old to DJ any longer. The club circuit 'spinners' were at work, the guys who never spoke, and the art of showmanship and daring had vanished as quickly as it had come. The new breed knew as much about music as the DJ did, but in a more clinical sense and so lacked the presence to be anything more than a moron with a turntable. The people who came to the clubs were changing too, moving away from wild and wonderful party animals to water swilling, chemical taking, acne spotted, nonentities for whom 'E' was the sad word of their poor little lives. (Been there, tried that, didn't need it.)
But the music lives on... Yea verily! I hear thee say. Forsooth and all that! (Sorry, getting carried away.) And the music does live on, the best music of the 60's, 70's and 80's is constantly being copied by unimaginitive 'bands' who can't even play an instrument. What a travesty! Even so, the occasional good version does come out, when the people who produce the music do actually play it too. What next!
